Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone are now that giant monolith that are immovable, the fortress that cannot be breached in India today’s Mood of the Nation poll.
Second on the list is Shah Rukh Khan. While Deepika Padukone held on to the top spot, Rashmika Mandanna, Sai Pallavi and Nayanthara, all of whom have worked across South languages and recently ventured into Hindi films, saw their ranks rise with the surprise entry of Kangana Ranaut as well. However, Deepika, in 2026, is not the first feature in this list. This is the 14th time in the bi-annual poll that Deepika has consistently been voted #1.
It is interesting that in a year 2025, where Deepika did not have a release, she still won over as the game-changer who was most spoken about and ignited the biggest debate of the country. So much so that the ratings from last year’s poll have sky-rocketed from 8.2 to a huge 10.7 according to the poll that is based on responses.
With Big B and Deepika reigning the charts, it is clear that the nation loves these two. For Deepika, two projects were announced last year which are easily the biggest two films of the country in production – King starring alongside SRK and Atlee’s next alongside Allu Arjun.
