In a recent interview with Why Not Cinema, the actor shared his thoughts on the blockbuster. He acknowledged that opinions on Animal are split, with viewers either loving it or disliking it. However, Emraan personally enjoyed the film and could sense the director’s passion in every frame.

Praising The Uncompromising Vision

Emraan highlighted what he considers Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s greatest strength as a filmmaker. He described Vanga as a director who fully committed to his vision and created the film he intended to make, without compromise. According to Emraan, this makes Animal pure and unfiltered cinema, something increasingly rare in today’s commercial landscape.

The actor was particularly impressed by specific technical choices in the film. He pointed to the opening scene as an example of Vanga’s unique approach. Emraan noted that nobody captures shots in that manner, and the director did not even use a traditional over the shoulder shot for that initial scene. This refreshingly different approach showcased the filmmaker’s confidence.

Technical Brilliance On Display

Emraan went into detail about the opening sequence, describing it as a lengthy scene that runs around 9 to 10 minutes. The fact that Vanga executed it as a two shot format demonstrates his mastery over the craft. The actor found this choice to be audaciously distinct and compelling, proving that the director knew exactly what he wanted to achieve.

He also mentioned that someone had pointed out the lack of wide shots in Animal. Rather than seeing this as a limitation, Emraan viewed it as another bold artistic choice that sets the film apart from conventional Bollywood cinema.

On the work front, Emraan will next be seen alongside Yami Gautam in Haq. Produced by Junglee Pictures and directed by Suparn Verma, the film explores themes of belief, justice, and identity in contemporary India. The courtroom drama is set to hit theaters globally on November 7, 2025.
