Samsung has finally brought its leading mid-range smartphone option, the Galaxy A56, to the US.
We’ve been enjoying the Samsung Galaxy A56 here in the UK since mid-March, but our American cousins have been forced to do without. That’s all changed, and not before time.
Samsung US is now listing the Galaxy A56 as being available to buy, with the 128GB model starting at $499. You can double your storage for a mere $549.99.
Samsung is offering a discount of up to $150 on trade ins, as well as offering its usual instalment plan.
US customers don’t appear to have the same colour options as we over this side of the pond do. There’s just the slightly drab Awesome Graphite and Awesome Lightgray on offer, with Awesome Olive, Awesome Pink nowhere to be found.

Our thoughts on the Samsung Galaxy A56
We reviewed the Samsung Galaxy A56 at the time of its global release, and called it “A respectable distillation of the company’s current flagship experience for half the price of a Galaxy S25+”.
While it’s not as good as the Google Pixel 9a overall, it does present a viable alternative.
Our reviewer liked that it had slimmed down a little after a somewhat chunky Samsung Galaxy A55, while Samsung’s software is on point. We particularly appreciated the AI additions.
Charging speeds have improved to a much more impressive 45W, while Samsung’s new six-year software update promise is second only to the Pixel 9a within its mid-range category.
If you’re someone who has been raised on the comfort of Samsung phones – as many in the US have, given its more homogenised smartphone scene – then it’s a very good sub-$500 smartphone option.
