In one’s own voice ( Apna Sanchar magazine – A review )

Of the different issues regarding which our history-writing is seen  adopting disturbing silence one is  inclusive study in the Tribal-life . Only as to undo this shortcoming to an extent  that  the Hindi magazine, ‘Apna Sanchar’,  published by Akhil Janajati Sanskruti Sanrakshan  Samiti is before the readers. To get accustomed with  Janjati community  in the  voices of its own savants and learned authors  that the magazine gets to be in  the role of just a bridge in nutshell. Looking into  the last three issues so also makes the sense of it.

How the Gondi Language born out of divine sound or  the Naad  of Damru of Shanker Shambhu. That how according to Sanatana tradition that the festivals are integrated with the nature  this comes true looking at ‘Sarhul’, Basant season,  when ‘Sakhua’ tree is worshipped. ‘Sohrai’ is a five days-festival in which the animal stock is worshiped wishing all  prosperity. Mother earth is worshipped before  the crop sowed and thrashed.  So in Diwali the ox being esteemed to be Nandi is worshipped and fed. According to the Puranas the Bheel community had for their origin Lord Shiva’s son, Nishad. Plenty of other instances  that the magazine is replete with that corroborates the fact that Janjati people are Hindus as much as others are.  It is therefore even Supreme Court mentions nowhere that Janjati Community is not Hindu,  this  the honorable district magistrate, Shrimati Rajni Prakash, make note of in her article in the magazine. So it is none other than Dr Ambedkar who says : ‘ The tribal community is closest to the  India’s ancient civilization.’ They worship not the foreign God , but all that belong to their surroundings – the trees, animals, mountains and  mother-earth.  Munda tribal community holds Puri temple as its paternal temple. So do they  worship  basil plant, the oath of which initiated to them  by Birsa Munda himself.

How with  the spirit of  ‘Janani Janambhoomi Swargadapi  gariyasi’ ( The Land of birth is greater than the heaven)   that  Janjati community is integrated with  , this writer  justifies  through   the episodes of Ekalavya,  Barbarik(Khatushyam) , Maharani Durgawati, Rana Punja Bheel, Bhagwan Birsa Munda and such other . So also, expounding the mantra ‘ Yatra naryastu pujayante , ramante tatra devta’ ( God makes abode where woman is worshipped)   this is also told how in the shear Sanatana ethos that  the family makes celebration  in full festivity on the birth of  the girl ; and , so also, parents are not forced to pay dowry .

So goes one  through the  foreign travellers Fayan , Huen Sang  and others   giving glorious account of medical -therapy; art of music; well developed judicial system ; scientific approach towards the conservation of environment and inclusive knowledge system prevalent in the community-life.

The conversion of Hindus through service-education-medical treatment has been one of the biggest threats that the country faced . To get into the real picture  the  first Chief minister  of undivided Madhya Pradesh , Pandit Ravi Shanker Shukla formed the Niyogi Commission headed by the former Chief Justice of High Court ,Bhavani Shanker Niyogi, in 1954. And when the report tabled the country knew , ‘ The ultimate aim of the church is to sow the tendency of denationalization through the conversion.’ How  disturbing is this that the 5% converted people are usurping as much as 60% of the total the benefits  themselves alone. It was then only that Baba Kartik felt the need for initiating the ‘Delisting- Movement’. The article on this issue being described briefly  in simple  language makes it readable.

Truly written, an individual sitting  firmly clasping a support may not think ahead of it.  All the hopes pinned at the government jobs alone is to wasting away intrinsic skill and other available opportunities. The government jobs are reported to be just about 97 lacs. Whereas the jobs forthcoming from private sectors is the continuous process. Of course, here you gain recognition more from skilled led knowledge notably . In the games also that the opportunities could be traced for oneself. By the dint of her pace balling onslaught how Kranti Gond rose to the top of the Cricket that could be seen in the life-sketch drawn in the magazine.

The way the selection of the  contents  kept within the targeted limit in the magazine is adorable.  At the level of the structure of write -up   what is missing  could also be undone  henceforth .   The guiding tips such as  given in the  ‘Rachnatmak Lekhan’: Bhartiya Gyanpeeth  could be helpful :  If thought expressed moulded in  emotions embedded with the  rhythm of life  leaves far more lasting effect. The wastage of words should be avoided ; so in the language of a common man should the expression flow.  Apart from what you write, avoiding  to be didactive,  if some  is left for the reader to think himself makes the write-up small , inspiring  the reader more  to read the piece. In the time of social media laced with the reels that  which is  hurt most is the  patience of an individual. As  big is the content, so it is liable to be skipped – to learn it our own experience is enough before us. Besides, to tell  more in the short it is what  the  allegory, instances and references  could do   probably nothing else could do . For this makes the  reader  see happening  what he is reading before the eyes.  This leads  the write up to be appearing more authentic, as well. Newness or to tell what is remain untold  so far is an ultimate aim of the written piece.

As for avoiding the repetition of what is already said that could be done  at level of editing . Though writer could do that  using unidentical sentence structures at his own level. Likewise, from the title also creativity should be reflected.
