One Piece Heroines Anime Confirmed For July 5 Release

The One Piece: Heroines anime special, which was announced last year, is set to air on July 5, 2026, on Fuji TV and its affiliate network, according to a recent update from the franchise’s official X account.

The anime adapts the One Piece novel Heroines serialized in One Piece magazine and written by Jun Esaka, with illustrations by Sayaka Suwa. The stories focus on the female protagonists from the series, including Nami, Nico Robin, Vivi, and Boa Hancock, exploring moments outside the main plot.

The anime will adapt the first episode of the novel series titled “episode: NAMI.”

The story follows Nami after she purchases a pair of poorly-made shoes that hurt her feet. Dissatisfied, she returns to the shop, where she meets a designer named Lebno. He proposes to remake the shoes if Nami agrees to appear in his fashion show.

Haruka Kamatani is directing the project, having previously helmed the Koisuru One Piece short series. Character designs are by Takashi Kojima, known for his work on The Colors Within (character design and animation direction) and Monsters: 103 Mercies Dragon Damnation. The screenplay is written by Momoka Toyoda, who scripted One Piece Fan Letter and handled series composition for One Piece Log: Fish-Man Island Saga.

The Heroines novel was originally published as a series of short stories in One Piece magazine before being collected into a standalone volume. Each chapter centers on a different heroine.

Currently, the main One Piece anime, is on a scheduled hiatus, as the series transitions from a weekly anime to a seasonal model. This new format, which limits the series to approximately 26 episodes per year, aims to enhance and sustain a superior animation production.

The main anime is slated to return to Fuji TV on April 5, 2026, with the premiere of the Elbaph Arc.

Furthermore, Netflix is scheduled to release the second season of its live-action series, titled One Piece: Into the Grand Line, on March 10, 2026, following the global success of its first installment. Simultaneously, a separate anime reimagining from WIT Studio, titled The One Piece, remains in active development for the streaming giant.
