“In middle school, I came across a magazine with an illustration of Motoko Kusanagi inside. That was the moment when I discovered Ghost in the Shell. Its unique touch and color set it apart from other works. Even the author’s name, Masamune Shirow, captivated me. I was stunned. I’ve since encountered the series in various forms. Now, I am truly honored to be a part of this project and its long history. The concept I envisioned for this project is “Sound Public Security Sector 9”. With the help of my talented friends, I will strive to make this long-awaited work even better. May we all come together soon.

“I first watched Innocence when I was in junior high school. Ever since my heart was stolen by its intense charm, I’ve pursued everything related to Ghost in the Shell. Its influence is deeply ingrained into my own work and philosophy. At first, I couldn’t believe that I was entrusted with creating music for this work, but I wanted to embrace this precious world. With that feeling in my heart, I took on this project with my entire body and soul. Follow the whispers of my ghost!”

“I began with a single utterance: “Ghost in the Shell? Never heard of it!”, before immediately ordering every English and Japanese version I could get on Amazon. As I dove into composing at my private studio in Boston, a vast number of motifs began preparing for their musical journey. To Nashville, where my allies wait, for additional recordings. To a Shanghai hotel, for tailoring. Finally, the motifs’ journey comes to an end in Tokyo, transforming from a phenomenon called “a passage” into a message called “a suite”. A journey without hesitation, without blurring, without rewriting. These songs are like maps, etched with a trail of my thoughts and impulses.
