A Star Brighter Than the Sun shojo anime revealed a new trailer and key visual, along with an October 2, 2025 premiere date. The anime was originally announced in February this year, while the first teasers and cast information was revealed during AnimeJapan in March.
Studio KAI is in charge of the animation production, with Aya Kobayashi as the director. The new trailer features the opening theme song “Stellar Days” by Motohiro Hata, and you can check it out below.
The main voice cast consists of Minori Fujidera as Sae Iwata and Yuki Ono as Koki Kamishiro. Additional members were announced and include:
- Hina Yomiya as Hisui Onodera
- Taito Ban as Yota Ayukawa
- Mutsumi Tamura as Mio Kagawa
- Ryota Osaka as Yushin Izawa

Kazune Kawahara writes and draws the A Star Brighter Than the Sun (Taiyo Yori mo Mabushii Hoshi) manga series, which has been serialized in Shueisha’s Bessatsu Margaret shojo magazine since June 2021. Eleven volumes have been released in Japan as of April 24, 2025. Volume 12 is scheduled to release on August 25, 2025.
The manga received a nomination for the 12th an an Manga Award in 2021 and later secured a win in its 14th edition in 2023. It was also ranked 8th among the top manga for female readers in the 2023 edition of Takarajimasha’s Kono Manga ga Sugoi! (This Manga Is Amazing!) guidebook.
