Veteran actor Anil Kapoor is gearing up for a strong digital presence in 2026 as his upcoming action drama Subedaar is now confirmed to premiere on Prime Video in March 2026. The film, directed by Suresh Triveni, also stars Radhikka Madan and marks Kapoor’s first major release of the year.
Announced last year and wrapped up in early 2025, Subedaar blends intense action sequences with a deeply personal story centred on a retired army officer navigating life after service. The film follows Kapoor’s character as he transitions from battlefield heroics to confronting challenges on the home front, including repairing strained family ties and facing societal dysfunction, while protecting what matters most.
A father daughter dynamic at the core
In Subedaar, Anil Kapoor plays Subedaar Arjun Singh, a former soldier whose life takes a dramatic turn when his family comes under threat. Radhikka Madan plays his daughter Shyama, providing the emotional anchor that drives the narrative forward. The combination of action and heartfelt drama is positioned as the film’s core appeal as it prepares for its OTT debut.
Directed by Suresh Triveni, known for films such as Tumhari Sulu and Jalsa, the project is backed by a creative team that has focused on balancing physical intensity with emotional depth. The extended post production phase has allowed the makers to fine tune the storytelling, with the film now ready for its March release.
“The film wrapped up in early 2025, giving the team ample time to work on post-production. It will drop online in early March, marking Anil’s first offering of 2026,” said a source. The source added, “In Subedaar, Anil has explored a combination of heavy action and drama as the film has not only some great stunts, but also an emotional father-daughter story.”
OTT release reflects changing consumption patterns
The decision to release Subedaar directly on Prime Video reflects the growing trend of large scale action driven films finding wide reach through streaming platforms.
