Aniplex Acquires Egg Firm, Anime Production Studio Behind Mushoku Tensei & DanMachi


Aniplex Inc. has fully acquired Egg Firm Inc., the anime production company known for its involvement in series such as Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation and Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? (DanMachi).

In a press release dated Feb 2, 2026, Egg Firm said that Aniplex had purchased 100 percent of its shares, making the studio a wholly owned subsidiary of the major anime producer and distributor. The deal became effective the same day.

It was revealed that Egg Firm’s core business operations will remain unchanged following the acquisition. The company added that it will continue to focus on the planning and production of animation, along with related investments and licensing activities.

According to Egg Firm, the move is intended to deepen collaboration with Aniplex and will fully leverage the group’s management resources. They added that the integration aims to strengthen its ability to contribute to the growth of the animation industry at a time when global demand for Japanese anime continues to expand.

Egg Firm also noted that all of its employees are “renewing their commitment” under the new corporate structure and pledged to work diligently to meet expectations going forward.

Egg Firm Inc. is a Japan-based company specializing in anime planning, production, and management. Founded in 2015 by former GENCO producer Nobuhiro Osawa, the company debuted with The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. and later expanded through collaborations with creators such as Reki Kawahara, Ichiro Okouchi, and Akiyuki Simbo.

It has been involved in projects including Mushoku Tensei, Ruri Rocks, Prison School, Shimoneta, The Executioner and Her Way of Life, and My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999, among others.

In 2019, Egg Firm co-invested in Studio Bind alongside WHITE FOX, contributing to several of the studio’s productions.

Aniplex, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment Japan, is responsible for the planning, production, and distribution of anime series. It is best known for backing major global anime franchises such as Demon Slayer, Fate, Sword Art Online, Fullmetal Alchemist, Monogatari Series, and Puella Magi Madoka Magica.
