Over the years, Goku has changed and maturing, even if many criticize him for certain children’s attitudes. On this occasion, the Dragon ball website has shared a Draft sketch that Draed Akira Toriyama in 1989 and that began the Saiyan adventure towards the stars.

As part of “the archives of Toriyama”, Dragon ball‘s website has shared a fascinating illustration in which we can see a forgotten Goku design. In fact, it is a drawing that takes place during one of the most iconic sagas in the industry, Namek’s.
In this illustration, we can See Goku wearing Astronaut’s complete teampreparing to travel to outer space and get to Namek. New adventures were waiting for him in the stars, as well as a powerful villain, as is Freezer.

It is important to provide a little context. And this image comes from a draft made by Akira Toriyama for the #47 of the Weekly Shonen Jump in 1989. The chapter in question to which this drawing belonged was that of “planet Namek, dark and cold”.
With this image we can appreciate that Goku is preparing to leave for outer space to enter new adventures in the unknown. As we have mentioned, is part of one of the most iconic sagas of all time.
A curious detail is that Goku does not have the usual GI suit that we all already know, but has an astronaut team. But it’s not all, since, on the Dragon ball website, You can read that this cover was accompanied by the phrase: “Removing space! Heroes of the Earth!”
In addition to all of the above, we must add that this drawing occurred at a peak franchise. Yes, it is true that, at the time, it was nothing more than a draft, but I know You can appreciate the entire essence of Toriyama and the work that has impacted generations so much.
Although Toriyama has left this world, the truth is that its most iconic franchise remains present and very current. Either for animated projects, by The manga that keeps readers in suspense or all the story he has achieved. Dragon ball will never cease to exist and will be transmitted from generation to generation.
