HHR News | Video : DC Comic Fans Expose Superman Director James Gunn’s History Of Anti India Properganda

With mixed reviews and reactions to the latest Superman movie by Director James Gunn, a new controversy has arisen in his promotional interview for Superman, which has gone viral, when asked about his views on negative reactions to his movie. He said,

“I do tune out most of social media, but every once in a while, someone will say something, it’s always the weirdest stuff.” Relating to how the character Superman also responds to online criticism and hate, he weighed in, “…and then I go, ‘I think I might be upset about something a 12-year-old in India is saying’… You know what I mean? and I’m like, ‘let it go.’”

While many of his fans argue that 12-year-old in India, meaning ‘Indian’ was just a random term and wasn’t directly attacking Indians, but having a closer examination of why he used the term reveals something more sinister.

This is why DC comic fans across the globe, as well as those in India, are calling him out for being racist for stereotyping Indians, for labelling them as childish ’12-year-olds’ or insignificant of no value, which is how Indians are often perceived worldwide, being historically rooted in Hinduphobia.

But then his side of the jury further accuses the 12 year old ‘Indian’ side wanting James Gunn’s Superman to fail being cultish fans of the Snyderverse, meaning followers of director Zack Snyder who directed the 2016 Man of Steel Superman movie starring Henry Cavill, and let’s be honest, who did take the throne of Superman after the late Christopher Reeve.

And Overall, Zack Snyder has a whole list of amazing movies, from Superman to The Watchmen, 300, Dawn of the Dead, and many more. So, for many, he is the GOAT. He has also praised the Mahabharata in public, declaring himself a big fan, with a meme he shared years ago of Sri Krishna about to take out Bhishma’s life with a chariot wheel. Therefore, his Indian fans have an extra boost.

Then in reaction to James Gunn’s, 12-year-old  in India comments, DC comics went into cringe, desperate damage control as threats to boycott Superman by Indian audiences are taking place, claiming how,

James Gunn says he took inspiration from Bollywood films whilst making ‘ SUPERMAN’

“Bollywood movies are the most important thing to me […] so that’s really where I take my inspiration for Superman.”

Also, a 2023 interview he had with Hindustan Times is being quoted where he’s supposed to have said that Indian films have “been a big influence” on him, stating that Bollywood’s mix of action, comedy, drama, and music inspired his Guardians of the Galaxy movies. He also said, wants Indian superheroes and filmmakers to join the DC Universe.”

But that’s all good, even though Bollywood praise itself is a joke, but this is where it gets sinister

As an Indian DC fan 4P1 @4P1HT  exposed by bringing out more of DC comics and his past into the open when it comes to India,

1/ DC Studios, currently run by James Gunn and Peter Safran, has been repeatedly targeting India’s sovereignty and its citizens through their movies, interviews and fandom. Here’s a thread exposing their hateful propaganda against India :

2/In Injustice (2021), Kashmir is depicted as a disputed region. Superman and Wonder Woman destroy Indian military equipment and declare the region as an “arms-free zone”.

3/The Justice League destroy Indian Air Force F/A-18D “Hornets”, armed with AIM-9L “Sidewinder” InfraRed (IR) Close Combat Missiles (CCMs) over Kashmir in the movie.

So again, will DC comics show the recent killings of 26 people, killed for the majority being Hindus in Kashmir, as the Indian army protects Kashmir from neo nazi Islamists for decades.? Will it show the genocides against Kashmiri Hindus? Will it show Kashmir, an ancient, indigenous, Hindu sacred land name derived from sage Hindu sage Kashyapa, which Arab colonised slaves want to destroy?

We doubt it. This is why his 12-year-old in India comment has much more to it, especially this
mentality is rooted in Hinduphobia that was coined back to the 1860s, which is why you often see from comics or movies like Indiana Jones of the Golden Voyage of Sinbad and many more portraying Goddess Kali as evil back to colonial times or in present times movies Slumdog Millionaire bashing Hindus as extremists, or even more recently  Benisha Mudhi (Modi) The Shiva Worshiping Female Hindu Villain In Netflix’s ‘The Signal’, or Rabbit Hole a American spy thriller television series where John Weir, played by Kiefer Sutherland fighting against a ‘Brahminical Caste’ Conspiracy Take Over America’s Democracy.

So what’s next? James Gunn’s next sequel to his movie will be Superman Vs BrahminMan who also happens to be 12 years old, but wants to oppress the world under ‘Caste’?

The overall impression you get over the years fighting for Hindu causes from the media, academia and politics, bashing Indians, meaning Hindus, is because they are still seen as subhuman, which needs to be taken on and exposed even with movies.

The problem from the Hindu side, the Intellectual kshatriyas are often not at all aware of how pop culture works, on how it influences the masses, but worse, in reaction, will probably instead of Intellectual kshatriya will promote the Intellectual Superman to sound appealing for a major fall later.

Only a few Hindu academics like Professor Vamsee Juluri are aware of the major pop culture impact, as he exposes in this Video : What is Media ‘Propaganda’ Studies ?
