I Want to Love You Till Your Dying Day anime unveiled a new trailer on Wednesday. The anime is slated to premiere in July with studio Roll2 animating.
Yasushi Tomoda is the new director while Jukki Hanada (Bloom Into You, Sound! Euphonium) is writing the script. Kyoko Fuyu (Spirit Chronicles) is on character designs, and Yukari Hashimoto (A Sign of Affection) is composing the music. The previously credited director, Takudai Kakuchi (In the Heart of Kunoichi Tsubaki) is now the creative advisor.
The main cast consists of:
- Rie Takahashi as Sheena Totsuki
- Rina Hidaka as Mimi Kagari
- Asami Seto as Lizzy Seiran
- Yui Ishikawa as Ali Maud
The anime is based on a manga written and illustrated by Aono Nachi. It was serialized in Ichijinsha’s Comic Yuri Hime from August 2018 to January 2020. The title was then moved to online serialization on both PixivYurihime and Ichijin Plus. Kodansha USA is licensing the series in English, and they described it as:
An orphanage for girls is actually a boot camp, turning out magical child soldiers for a gruesome war. Yet love finds a way to blossom amid bloodshed, in this dramatic, much-anticipated yuri manga that is spiritual kin to the likes of Revolutionary Girl Utena, Otherside Picnic, and Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury.
