Sad to hear of the passing of music photographer, Guy Webster. I grew up with the Rolling Stones, Big Hits (High Tide and Green Grass) album in my parents record collection. The album also credits
Gered Mankowitz, who shot the cover. I always thought that the Stones, pictured below was taken on the River Thames but the image was actually taken at Franklin Canyon. Hats off to the art department. Over his career Guy has shot a lot of classic album covers, he’s Mamas and the Papas album seems to be the shot he’ll be remembered for.
