Pokémon Gen 10 Map Comparison Leaves Gamers Impressed

The Gen 10 games for Pokémon are expected to be revealed soon thanks to the quickly approaching Pokémon Day at the end of February. This marks the 30th Anniversary of the franchise, so expectations are high. And that also means leaks and rumors for Gen 10 are in full force.

Over on Reddit, a leaked map of the Gen 10 region has appeared, and fans are weighing in on what they think. It’s a pretty massive region, with several islands of various sizes, and it seems like most fans are united in being impressed with the Gen 10 map, assuming the leak is actually accurate.

In the leaked map comparison for Gen 10, we can see the various islands set over real-world Indonesia and some surrounding islands that reach almost to the Philippines in the north and is just shy of touching Vietnam in the northwest. The sheer size and scope of this map is pretty impressive, and Pokémon fans were quick to weigh in.

“Gen 10 region going to make Hoenn look like a puddle,” wrote one user, referencing the mostly beach-and-ocean Hoenn region from Gen 3’s Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. Others were quick to compare the new map to that of Gen 7’s Alola region: “Most of the Alola dex should be in since they are both island regions.”

We Don’t Have Long To Wait Now

A previous leak claimed that islands were infinite in Gen 10, but that doesn’t appear to be the case here (again, assuming this leak is accurate). That means fans are speculating that locations like the Philippines may be saved for DLC for the Gen 10 games, similar to how Isle of Armor released for Sword and Shield.

One thing is for sure: Everyone seems to be pretty impressed by how big this map is. If Gen 10 can actually pull this off, it’ll be pretty amazing. And, thankfully, we don’t have long to wait. Pokémon Day 2026 is coming soon, and Gen 10 games should be revealed in some capacity during that day’s stream.

Right now, that means we’re just a couple of weeks away from seeing the Pokémon Gen 10 games officially. Expectations are high, so hopefully The Pokémon Company and Game Freak can deliver, especially if the new games are only releasing on Switch 2, as previous leaks have claimed. Hopefully, the next generation of Pokémon games can live up to expectations.
