Reminded how the country is well-knit in common culture emanated from one Sanatana-Dharm

( A Review of ‘Youth special edition’ of  Vanbandhu , English – Hindi bilingual magazine )

Where the dream takes shape that happens to be the vision of  a  youth brimmed  with energy, driven by the  higher ambition.   The initiatives, therefore, are usually  seen forthcoming from the same age. Shri Ram, Vivekananda , Bhagwan Birsa Munda , Rani Gaidinliu were of the same age of a youth when they inspired the nation of their times. With preserving their Dharam and culture taking Janjati (tribal) community to their all round well-being is the aim of Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram . Later, so as to emphasize more on the participation of the youths that a separate ‘Yuva-Karya Aayam’ came into being in 2020.

And now Kalyan Ashram published ‘ Yuva-Visheshank’  dedicated to the youth fraternity. Knew when read it that  as in 2022 the Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav was celebrated that  the symposiums , exhibitions, debate competitions and Yuva-samvad     were organized in 110  universities covering over  50,000 students. This, notably,  provided the opportunity   to common educated class of different hues in a great way for the first time to come to know the contribution of the Janjati heroes in the freedom struggle.

Jagdev Ram Uraon ( former national president, Kalyan Ashram), Dilip Singh Judev, Narhari prasad Sahay (the uncle of Vishnudev Sahay, CM Chhattisgarh)  and, along with them ,    so many  vistarak-pracharaks first groomed as  VKP volunteers only coming into the proximity  of Balasahab Deshpandey( the founder of Kalayan Ashram) at an early age. So were the  youths grown up living  in Shabri Kannaya Chhatrawas, Raipur ; Nivedita Chhatrawas, Rudrapur ; Shriram Chhatrawas, Gorakhpur and several others. Later they reached as the Kalyan Ashram  volunteers in Poorvanchal states like Assam, Nagaland, Manipur , Tripura and so on   and helped in preserving  the regional  demography by awakening traditional cultural selfhood among the Janjati community living here  . In ‘ Yuva-Visheshank’ comes very inspiring description of this in detail.

With the message of ‘Tu main Ayk Rakt’  (You-me spring from the same descent) ‘Janjati Yuva Kumbh’ was organized as a part of  Prayagraj Kumbh in 6-7 February, 2025 by Kalyan Ashram  Yuva Aayam . Over 10,000 youths from north-east states, Gujrat, Jharkhand-Chhattisgarh and south India  participated in the event.  The display of  cultural folk-dances supported by the musical instruments such as Bihu of Assam, Chhau of Jharkhand and  Karma of Chhattisgarh   in the respective  traditional dresses reminded that how entire  India is well-knit in  common culture of Sanatana-Dharm.

On reading the article on traditional knowledge tribal community one comes to know  as to how through the  herbs, leaves, roots, fruits and seeds available in surrounding environment  that they  developed such a medical  therapy which underscores  that nature itself is a dispensary. And that how like ayurveda it is based on inclusive approach of keeping body-mind-intellect-soul healthy all alike.
