Remote Work is about Choice, Visibility and Opportunity

Open Remote Opportunities for Finance Professionals

Headlines continue to spark debate around remote work as some employers revisit their flexibility policies. But while companies like AIB may adjust their operating models, it’s important to remember: flexible work is still thriving. However, remote opportunities are not always visible.

At Grow Remote, we believe both employers and employees should be empowered to make informed choices. If a company finds remote work challenging, we can help. Our training, consultancy and workshop services are designed to help solve the challenges of remote, not avoid them.

But this conversation is not just about employers. It’s also about the rights and realities facing employees who are facing changes in their careers and reduced flexibility in where and or how their work is done.

Remote work is a two-way street

Just as employers can change course, employees can too. We’re not suggesting that changing jobs is easy, but we are saying that opportunity exists if you know where to look.

One of the biggest barriers in the remote job market is visibility. Many remote-first companies don’t use traditional job boards. Many don’t advertise beyond their own careers page. That means thousands of opportunities fly under the radar of the average job seeker every month.

Let’s take the finance sector, for example. While headlines focus on who’s returning to the office, these companies are quietly hiring for remote roles in Ireland right now:

  • Revolut: Over 70 open roles in Ireland, with 200 more announced across Europe. We want to see these jobs land in Ireland! Current open remote finance roles include:
  • Deel: A global HR platform supporting distributed teams worldwide. Current open remote finance roles include:
  • Canonical: Publisher of Ubuntu and open-source software for enterprise. Current open remote finance roles include:
  • Coinbase: A leading cryptocurrency platform with Irish operations. Current open remote finance roles include:
  • Kraken: A major crypto exchange committed to remote-first hiring. Current open remote finance roles include:

This is just a snapshot. As per the latest LinkedIn data in July 2025, there are around 5,000 fully remote jobs and 25,000 hybrid roles currently open. Grow Remote has documented the steady flow of remote and hybrid roles advertised in Ireland each month, representing 40% of all open roles.

Why this matters

Lack of visibility in remote job opportunities limits individual choice and, by extension, career progression opportunity. Remote work can unlock profound social, economic and environmental benefits. But if people don’t have visibility of the jobs and are unaware of which companies are employing remotely –  they can’t access those benefits.

Employers: the case for remote is still strong

It’s not just about workers. The business case for remote work remains solid, especially for SMEs.

Grow Remote’s latest research shows that 100% of SMEs we interviewed believe remote and hybrid models are key for staff retention and attraction. And our FORWARD Programme is helping Irish businesses of all sizes design sustainable, flexible workplaces with measurable impact.

Nine out of ten organisations believe hybrid to be the most impactful tool for recruiting and talent retention, according to a recent CIPD report, while over two-thirds of organisations see hybrid employment as central to building an inclusive workplace. In IBEC’s 2025 report, 68% of employees said that hybrid or flexible work is key to their wellbeing.

2024 research from Stanford economist, Nick Bloom, found that hybrid employees who work from home two days a week are equally as productive as fully onsite colleagues. They are also more likely to be promoted and less likely to quit their job. This is backed by research by the Western Development Commission with NUIG, which found 88% of team managers felt remote working had no negative impact on productivity.

“More than 9 out of 10 workers believe they are either more productive or just as productive when working from home. Interestingly, employers are also acknowledging the benefits of remote work, with more than 3 out of 4 saying their employees are either more productive or having a neutral view on their productivity.
