Slave of the Elite #18 — Spear Haver

Ah, the advantages of very low expectations.
Impressions:
I’ll be honest, I had completely forgotten that her actual power was copying other powers since she uses the gun thing 99% of the time. Also, Tits McGee had a point that she hadn’t done jack squat to that point except rely on someone else, so I don’t know why she got so pissy about it. And for that matter, beating him up didn’t matter, but insulting her boss did? Was this a thing that was important to her at any point before now? Why not threaten to take him away or something? Then you could’ve at least had him wake up and, you know, done something in that fight, or had them work together. Once again, a bunch of stills and explosions do not a satisfying action scene make, no matter how many paragraphs you then use to declare that they Did Their Best™ and Proved Their Resolve™. Over throwing a tantrum.
And then there’s the antagonists, who have been reduced to comic relief in an aside for about five minutes split between the start and end. Perhaps they’re finally going to do something, and we’ll have our first actual non-training encounter seven episodes in to the second season, but I am skeptical, what with it declaring that now that the tournament is over, it’s time for more training. ie We haven’t gotten quite enough MILF fanservice yet. Well, you do you. Still better than what Samurai Troopers was offering.
