The Revenge Music Rights for ₹27 Crore Across All Languages

In a significant development that underlines the rising valuation of music in big-ticket sequels, Box Office Worldwide has exclusively learned that T-Series has acquired the music rights of Dhurandhar The Revenge for a consolidated sum of ₹27 crore across all languages. The deal has now been formally locked, correcting the speculative figures currently doing the rounds in sections of the media.

Sources close to T-Series confirmed to Box Office Worldwide, “The agreement is a comprehensive, all-language package, factoring in not only audio and digital music rights but also promotional usage linked to the film’s marketing campaign. The valuation reflects strong market confidence in the franchise’s expansion and its expected pan-India reach.”

The acquisition marks a clear shift for the franchise. The music rights of Dhurandhar Part 1 were held by Saregama, whose album contributed significantly to the film’s recall value and long-term consumption across platforms. For the sequel, the makers have opted for a fresh alignment, with T-Series coming on board at a notably higher valuation, in line with the sequel’s increased scale and commercial expectations.

Why the ₹27 crore music deal matters

It is indicated that the ₹27 crore valuation factors in the entire lifecycle of the soundtrack, extending well beyond theatrical release. This includes post-release streaming performance, short-video platform usage, reels-driven discovery, and sustained digital monetisation across multiple languages. With Dhurandhar 2 being mounted as a pan-language film, the deal reflects confidence in the soundtrack’s ability to travel beyond the core Hindi market.

Music has increasingly emerged as a critical pre-release revenue vertical for large sequels, often allowing producers to partially de-risk projects before theatrical release. In this context, the Dhurandhar 2 agreement places it among the higher-end music acquisitions for a sequel in recent times.

Correcting the market chatter

While several entertainment portals have quoted varying figures for the music deal, Box Office Worldwide has verified through independent industry sources that those numbers do not represent the final agreement. The ₹27 crore figure is the accurate, all-language consolidated value, inclusive of audio, digital and ancillary music rights, along with promotional integration.

A strategic play by T-Series

For T-Series, Dhurandhar 2 aligns with its broader strategy of backing high-visibility, franchise-led films with strong soundtrack potential. The label has consistently prioritised projects that offer repeat listening value, remix viability and a long digital shelf life, making established franchises especially attractive from a music business standpoint.

Given the scale at which Dhurandhar 2 is being anticipated ahead of release, the soundtrack is expected to form a key pillar of the film’s marketing rollout, with multiple tracks likely to be unveiled well in advance to build sustained audience engagement.

Franchise value continues to rise

With the music rights now firmly in place, Dhurandhar 2 continues to strengthen its pre-release business profile. The transition from Saregama in Part 1 to T-Series in the sequel is a clear indicator of the franchise’s growing commercial value, both theatrically and across allied revenue streams.

As the makers prepare to roll out further promotional assets in the coming months, the ₹27 crore music deal sets a strong benchmark and reinforces Dhurandhar 2’s positioning as a major upcoming release.
