The Terminal List is based on the beloved book series by Jack Carr and now that Season 2, titled The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, is getting ready to hit Prime Video, fans are getting a little insight into what the new season will bring for James Reece (Chris Pratt) and Ben Edwards (Taylor Kitsch). The two television veterans took to New York City for the premiere of the second season, along with Carr, and while on the carpet, Carr spoke a bit about what fans of the series can expect from Dark Wolf. And more importantly, how Dark Wolf is going to differ from the book it is based on.
According to Carr, there were some things that had to be changed from the book because they actually happened in real life. The problem is that in the novel, the characters are able to stop them from happening, but in real life, that wasn’t necessarily the case. “We can’t follow it because some things that I wrote about in the book actually came true [in real life], and in the book, the character prevents them from happening,” Carr said at the premiere for Season 2.
Carr also said that outside of the more obvious changes they had to make with the show, they also had to cut things for timing and all the typical changes that happen with adaptations. “So there are some mandatory changes like that, and then there’s other ones because you have constraints obviously with time and all those other things,” he went on to say.
‘The Terminal List’ Author Says It Was a “Cool Challenge”
Carr went on to talk to the outlet about how it was a “cool challenge” to figure out how he was going to adapt the novel. “It’s much [more] different than writing a book [where] I have no constraints,” he said. “I can do anything I want, and here you have a lot of constraints. So, it’s really interesting those two kind of different mediums.” But Carr went on to share that the visuals of the story, which is based on the book True Believer, are a stunning addition to the show. “The visuals that we have so far for True Believer — especially from Africa — they are so stunning, and I can’t wait to see that come together in the editing room,” he said.
