Keepsake Games has announced that its upcoming co-op game, which was formerly known as Jump Ship, will officially be called Jump Space going forward. Why the rebrand, you rightly ask? Apparently, there were “trademark complications” that made the change necessary.
Jump Space was revealed last year and has garnered a lot of attention with its latest demo — it was one of the top three most-played demos during the recent Steam Next Fest and pushed the game above the one million wishlists milestone on the platform.
The co-op shooter allows players to man a space ship and jump into PvE missions that feature them raiding old ship wrecks or asteroids. Players can seamlessly go on and off their ship, be it in space or on a planet. Each run will be slightly different and allow players to upgrade their ship as needed for the specific mission parameters.
It has a bit of that Sea of Thieves and Wildgate DNA, but with slightly less chaos due to a lack of human-controlled enemy ships — but that’s exactly what makes it an interesting prospect for the types of players who don’t like multiplayer PvP experiences and just want to explore solo or with their friends.
The Early Access release date for Jump Space will be announced at Gamescom 2025.
