In the Indonesian retail landscape, success is measured not just by market share, but by the strength of the bond between a company and the people it serves. With over 22,000 outlets stretching from bustling streets of Jakarta to remote rural villages, Indomaret is more than just a convenience store; it is an essential thread in the fabric of Indonesian daily life.
Throughout 2025, Indomaret solidified this bond through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, “Melangkah Bersama Masyarakat” (Walking Together with the Community). With 275 distinct programs successfully executed, Indomaret has moved beyond being a convenience store to becoming a cornerstone of social progress.

A Holistic Approach to Social Welfare
Indomaret’s CSR 2025 strategy was built on six fundamental pillars: health, education, economic empowerment, social welfare, environment, and disaster response. By diversifying its focus, the company ensured that its presence created a “ripple effect” of positive impact across various layers of Indonesian society.
Health: The Leading Pillar
Public health stood at the forefront of the company’s CSR agenda. Recognising that community resilience starts with physical well-being, the company implemented a range of interventions:
- Strengthening basic health services: This focuses on the physical and logistical accessibility of healthcare. Instead of just donating medicine, Indomaret invested in the foundations of local clinics.
- Increasing the capacity of health workers: This initiative focuses on empowering the “human element” of healthcare. Indomaret recognises that the quality of care depends on the skills of those on the front lines, particularly local health volunteers known as kader.
- Nutritional support: Direct distribution of nutrition packages to vulnerable groups, aligning with national goals to reduce malnutrition.
- Infrastructure & logistics: Renovating community health centres (Puskesmas) and providing ambulance support to ensure rural areas have access to emergency transport.
- Preventive care: Launching mosquito nest eradication (Pemberantasan Sarang Nyamuk (PSN)) programs to curb endemic diseases.
Education Support and Economic Empowerment

Education remained a key priority in 2025. Indomaret focused on creating an equitable learning environment, from renovating school buildings to providing scholarships to high-achieving students from underprivileged backgrounds. Further, the company also provided teaching and learning facilities. By supplying essential learning tools and facilities, Indomaret helped bridge the gap for students in remote regions.

Simultaneously, the company tackled economic challenges through its empowerment programs. In an effort to help families navigate economic shifts, Indomaret organised “Pasar Murah” (affordable markets) and distributed basic food necessities (Sembako). Furthermore, they continued their mentorship of micro-entrepreneurs and the agricultural sector, providing local producers with the tools needed to achieve financial independence.
It is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to help communities address economic challenges and strengthen local people’s resilience.
Environmental Stewardship and Disaster Relief

Indomaret’s CSR efforts also reflected a growing commitment to the planet. The company’s environmental programs focused on maintaining the cleanliness and sustainability of public spaces, fostering a culture of ecological responsibility.
In addition, in 2025, Indomaret was at the forefront of emergency response. Whether due to flooding or other natural disasters, the company utilised its vast logistics network to deliver rapid aid to affected regions, proving that its stores are not just retail points but vital community outposts during times of crisis.
Creating Sustainable Hope
As Marcomm Executive Director PT Indomarco Prismatama Bastari Akmal noted, the true measure of Indomaret’s success lies in its ability to listen and contribute meaningfully to the community.
By completing 275 programs in a single year, Indomaret has demonstrated that corporate growth and social welfare can go hand in hand. As the company moves into 2026, the legacy of its 2025 journey serves as a blueprint for sustainable CSR, proving that when a business “walks with the community,” the path forward leads to a stronger community.
This deep-rooted connection is further evidenced by Indomaret being named ‘Brand of the Year’ at the 2025 World Branding Awards in the Convenience Store category—a prestigious testament to the enduring bond the company has built with the community it serves.
