We Care Group, a trusted family of care, nursing and dementia homes based in the North of England, has appointed a new Home Manager at one of its Lancashire care homes.
Now overseeing Courtfield Lodge Care Home in Ormskirk, Amanda Byrne boasts 36 years’ experience in the care industry – more than 30 of which have been in management roles across residential, dementia and nursing establishments.
Previously a Registered Manager of a 50-bed nursing home in Wigan, Amanda has a proven track record in care home management for homes of all sizes in the private care sector. Since joining We Care Group in September 2025, she has utilised her extensive skills in managing and supporting staff, promoting the wellbeing of residents and families to ensure the smooth and safe running of the home.
Speaking about her new role, Amanda said: “I’m passionate about supporting residents to live a happy and fulfilled life, regardless of their abilities. I enjoy the fact I’m able to make a difference to someone’s day – simply by making time for them.
“What drew me to We Care Group was their core values of family, honesty and respect: the fundamental basis of good care. It’s only been 3 months since I joined the team, but everyone has been so friendly and supportive, especially my line manager. Everyone is willing to take the time to say hello, even the senior management team. I look forward to getting stuck into my role and really making a difference here!”
